Hi,

Has anyone had any success with mounting the memory stick using "MS

On my system, I have the following errors in /var/log/messages when I
try run "MS Import":

My system is Mandrake Linux 9.1 with kernel 2.4.21-0.13mdk. Hotsync
works normally, and I can sync with both jpilot and evolution.

My old PDA is a Clie T615 and I can definitely mount the memory stick
normally on this linux box. Also, I can still mount the memory stick
using my sony digicam, so it can't be a faulty memory stick.

Regards,
Khai-Thye.

Hi,
Has anyone had any success with mounting the memory stick using "MS
Import" on the Sony Clie PEG-TG50?
I have seen this kind of errors with my Sony Digicam and my Mandrake
9.1. When reporting it on the USB list, I was told that the new 2.6
kernel was supposed to solve this (but I was too lazy to test it back
then :-)).
So I don't really have the answer, but maybe you should give it a try...

As far as I know, no one has yet successfully mounted a memory stick
from a Sony OS5 device. There are some good discussion threads about
this on www.cliesource.com in the Clie Linux group (back six months or
so, maybe more).

??? I don't understand the question! I reply to the list because I've a
TG50 and I successfully mount the MS inside so the reply must be:
yes !
Eric Laly.

PS: I don't know a TG50 running with another OS than OS5 (but I could
be wrong...)

I only wanted to clarify. I have an NX70V and this does not work for
me. It begs the question, therefore, as to which thing that is
different between your setup (OS5/TF50/2.4.21-ac4) and mine
(OS5/NX70/2.4.21-mdk25) that is the cause of this problem.

Does anyone have an NX70V working with usb-storage in linux?

I think the only difference between our configs is the kernel.
I use a vanilla 2.4.21 patched with Alan Cox 'ac4' patch (not the
mandrake patches).
I've made a try with 2.4.22 but the visor support is broken on that
revision. Perhaps the usb-storage is working but as the hotsync doesn't
work, I didn't tried.

"broken" how? There's a fix that I have pointed many people to on the
web, and is already in the 2.4.23-pre releases that some people have run
accross. What is the problem you are seeing?

thanks,

I just say that the support is 'broken' when I've made a try with
vanilla 2.4.22.

I've seen after there is a fix, but I don't go far as all is working

I see you're using a pretty bleeding-edge compiler here. Maybe if you
made your kernel/modules with an earlier version you might have better
luck.

yes, but as I said before, it is working with 2.4.21-ac4 (with this

Yes, try 2.4.23-pre to fix this issue. It doesn't affect everyone
(2.4.22 works fine for me, and lots of other people.)

Interesting. I have no problems with the visor support in 2.4.22. I use
an SJ20, but I don't think that should make a difference.
